Am I right in thinking the lightforce 240 blitz are too big for the factory steel winch bar on a GU?

Na, I matched them up to the bar, they looked like they would fit, but it would have been REAL close... pretty much blocking most air flow thru the center.

I think you'll find they'll fit but may poke out in front of the line of the bar (when viewed from the side profile). So, it depends on whether the law-makers (that's if you give a toss about what they reckon.....I don't!!!) consider is safe. Given that they present a "softer" landing for a poor pedestrian (than the steel bullbar cross member), I believe there is no downside to having them protrude in front of the bar. But, as we all know, that would be the common-sense approach, so don't expect the do-gooders to see it that way.

Miles

They Fit. However you will need to put spacers under the bracket between it the bull bar to raise the level about a inch. This means the botton of the lense doesnt stick out past the rubber pads of th ebar. The top of the lights do stick out in front of the top of bar slightly (as the bar slopes backward)

If you dont put the spacers you may have to drill holes closer to the front of the bar, then your lights will stick out. You will need longer bolts as well.

I have 240 Blitz on my GUII with an ARB winch bar. They are a good fit, but as has already been said, they do protrude very slightly in front of the bar, but are just awesome lights. Apart from some lowlife relieving me of my first set the current ones have been there for over 3 years and I have not had to re-aim them, nor have they contributed to any overheating. I have the 3.0ZD.

They fit without an issue. No need for spacers or re-drilling or anything. Its just a matter of taking the mounting brackets/bases off the light unit and reversing them.

This moves the light forward to give it just enough clearance to clear the tubing without protruding in front of the bar either.

I have had them fitted to my truck for almost a year now.

You may be able to make it out on my rig photo.

Well then apart from the extra $120 are the xgt's better than the blitz?
