Cracked Head or Head Gasket GQ 4.2 EFI

Well it looks like I have blown a head gasket or cracked a head on my Nissan GQ 4.2 EFI. Dual fuel. This may have been my fault or I exaserbated it as had a high temp and went to to up radiator with out waiting long enough, blew most of the coolant out, re-topped up on the go but think I add to the thermal shock. Was loosing some water level in the radiator with no hose leaks and a bit of moisture in the exhaust and now the oil has emulsified. So it looks like I'm in for a couple of days pulling the head of then getting a crack test. Any tips from the players who have pulled a head on the 4.2 EFI ?
Just the head or pull the engine or engine and g-box There is a slight show of oil at the bell housing and the clutch picks up fairly long but they did not seem to be in need of immediate attention.
