I have Daihatsu Coure and want to fit a tacometer. The problem is that it has three cylinders and I am unable to find a tacometer that will work properly on a three cylinder engine. Any suggestions?

Have a look at www.tinytach.com they make tacho's for single cylinder engines as
well as diesels so may have something to fit.
I've got one on my diesel and it works really
well.
You can buy direct from the website too.

You could search Japanese sites. It's unlikely you'll be able to find an OE tacho as they're a utilitarian (basic) vehicle.
For what it's worth, you can treat them pretty hard and they seem to take whatever you dish out, hence no need for a tacho. (I had the 860cc version as a company car and it went like stink, probably because it weighed next to nothing).
Someone with electronics experience might be able to help you with a mod to a 4/6/8 cyl tacho?

Try here www.scanguage.com/ - I have a Scanguage series 1 connected in the Jackaroo and it's fantastic.
Fire off an e-mail to the very helpful man at the site and he will tell you if it will work in the Daihatsu.
It's also portable so you can use it in other vehicles.

Ray,
Autobarn stock Specometer gauges. They have one for a 3 cylinder vehicle:
Specometer Tachometer Model 520-03
2&5/8" diameter
0 - 8000RPM
I looked around for one for my lad's Daihatsu Charade, 3 cylinder, 1 litre.
Regards,
Greg
