We have a Jurgens Expedition off-road caravan, and they seem to be very rare. We would like to share experiences with any other owners, and perhaps start an email group. If you are interested could you please reply.

Hi Rob,

I do not own one but I am interested in what others think of these things. They really look and sound a good thing for real off-road forays, what are your thoughts?

Good luck finding other owners, I do a bit of travelling and to date, have not come across a single one so as to be able to ask first hand owners opinions.

Cheers, Trevor.

Hi Robert,
We have had our Xpedition since January 05 and all absolutely thrilled with it. Everything we could wish for. We live in Qld and at the moment are in the process of contacting Jurgens owners to attemt to do what you are wanting. At this stage we have found five owners, so please feel free to email us at mumandpoo@hotmail.com .

Kevin & Robert,

I don't have a Jurgens but looked at them when I picked up a Kimberley Kamper at Victorian Camper Trailers. They had a few and seem to be a distributor in Vic. They are 'online' and fairly helpful - may be able to help you out with Vic owners of Jurgern's.

Hi Kevin and Trevor

We have just returned from a short visit to the Flinders and Gammon Ranges, and did some bush camping. We were very happy with the van, and had a wonderful time. The shower was useful, but we used more water than planned, and we may need extra capacity for longer trips. While at Hawker we met a couple with a Jurgens who were coming home after 12,000 km, including the Simpson Desert and Cape York. They had no problems, so my concerns about how "off-road" the vans are were completely ill-founded!

Rob, we have had one since November 2004. We spent 4 months in it travelling down the east coast, mostly off the beaten track, accross to the Flinders Ranges the up through Bourke and back up to Mackay last year. It towed extremely well and performed pretty good overall. Got it into a few tight spots that would have phased other offroad vans. We found the outdoor cooking in Southern Australia a bit cold (not used to cold weather) but probably should not have been down there in autumn & winter. We returned to 'busyness' and really aren't using it much now and have thought of selling it, but its a bit hard to find out what they are worth secondhand. They certainly are 'conversation starters' though. We hardly had a place that someone didn't want to come over and check it out. We found the shower to be really worth the extra dollars.

Regards, Barry
