Just a brief trip report as some were interested.

Day 1
Slave finished work early so we could leave as soon as school finished. Car had been packed ready the night before so it was just the last minute things that had to be packed.
Drove until about 11.30pm then found a decent looking parking bay just sth of Pt Germein. We pulled the swag down and Slave and son slept in that and daughter and I slept in the car for the night.

Day 2
Travelled to Pt Augusta, found a supermarket to get fresh bread and then continued to Andamooka via Wommera and Roxby Downs. At Andamooka we paid our $ 25 to travelled along the Torrens Track. Before heading on to the track we went to the edge of Lake Torrens and saw the salt. Kids enjoyed this and it was a lot different to Lake Eyre that they had seen last year. Camped on the side of the track for the night.

Day 3
Continued along the track, stopping off at Stuart Creek for a look. Didn't seen anyone there, the one caravan there seemed deserted. Arrived at Farina about 2.30pm and decided to spend the night here and make use of the shower.

Day 4
Heard the pies were really good at Copely so called in here and had pies and coffee for breakfast. Went to Leigh Creek and got some bread, tomatoes and cucumber. Should have got the fuel at Copely not Leigh Creek wher it was dearer.
Continued on to Arkaroola but this time we went in the back way via Wheal Turner Mine. Did a load of washing which dried in no time. strange that the machine is free when everything else is so expensive.

Day 5
Did Echo Camp Back Track which is now $40 plus $50 key deposit. 2 years ago it was free, at that price we found it rather expensive for what it was. After we finished we did all the other short tracks here that we hadn't done before. Back at camp by about 2.30, weather was warm ( guessing abot 35) and very windy. Later we went for another drive to get away from the flies and have a look at the dust blowing around from the Station lookout

Day 6
Arkaroola to Willow Springs via Blinman, Parachilna Gorge, Parachilna Hotel and Brachina Gorge. Met up with Adrian LR for a couple of minutes at Blinman Mine.

Day 7
Did Skytrek, packed the car then headed to Adelaide where we got a motel room for the night

Day 8
Went to Hahndorf where we were very dissapointed to find that our farourite smallgoods shop had closed down 6 months ago....not happy. Headed off for home. The wind had picked up while we were in Hahndorf so had that to contend with all the way home. 4.30 and we got home and got the roof unpacked just minutes before we had a short thunder storm

Slave is back at work and now I have the washing and unpacking of tubs/ drawers to do and the next holiday to plan.

Hi Mrs S & Slave.

Nice to meet you albeit briefly.

We're home a week early - trip report post describes the "highlights" - the wind and dust got to us.

All the best
