Can anyone tell me where to buy connectors to suit the Sun power brand solar panels?
The panels have 2 cables that have a connector similar to a large bullet connector.

Dick Smith Or Tandy have a range of these things, you might find one in one of the bigger stores.

Thanks Notso, I will try but they look a bit specialised for Tricky Dicky to stock.

I found a picture of the connectors I want, pity it is on a US site.

I will keep looking & see if I can buy them in Australia. If not I will cut them off & use other connectors.

They are called MC cables and are available in different lengths and configurations.
Male / female 1m, 2m, 5m, 8m, 12m 15m
40cm male only
40cm f/male only
There are also branch sockets 2f & 1m or 2m & 1 f
This is why I prefer to sell the '
Junction Box' type of panel.
Regards Derek.

Hi Derek,
I just sent you an email.
I will probably cut these connectors off & use another type of plug & socket.
Thanks

What model SunPower panel do you want information on ??
You can have various lead connections installed on SunPower panels!!!!
Simply ask your retailer to change to the actual connection you want fitted.
What state are you in?

Hi Mainey,
I am trying to setup a secondhand set of 90w SunPower panels. They will be used on a camper trailer setup.
We have 2 panels, 2 double male adapters, 2 double female adapters and a male & female cable that has been chopped approx 400mm long.
Original setup had the 2 panels monted beside each other and one pair of cables to the reg.
I want to set them up with individual cables from each panel to the reg.
I was hoping to buy a couple of connectors & mount them onto existing cables but it looks like I can only buy pre terminated cables with these connectors on them.
I will probably just cut the MC connectors off the short cables on the panels & use a more readily available connector, possibly an inline hella socket. I have been onto Derek for some connector options.
Marty.

Marty, simply remove the existing cables from
the junction box and replace it with a new cable the correct length with out any connections at all, run the cables as short as possible, go from one panel to the next last then to the regulater.
I have my two panels done this way and I assure you it works.

Some panels don't have
junction boxes.
The wires are sealed directly onto the cells.

Hi a bit more info.
There is a
junction box on these panels, I looked at disconnecting the wires from there but could not work out how to disconnect. They seem to be a spring loaded type of connection, they looked a bit fragile so I decided not to try disconnecting the cables. Having a connector close to the panel is handy as it is a lot easier to set up the panel and then simply plug in the cable.
Disadvantage of using one cable is this means both panels must be mounted together. Camper trailer has a mount above the draw bar to mount 1 or both panels horizontally but depending on location we might want to mount 1 panel horiz and one panel on the ground angled.
Camper trailer has existing multiple anderson pole solar inputs.
A friends set-up has hella sockets on the panels therefore solar cable has hella plug one end & Anderson pole the other, Probably best off having this set-up the same.
