Hey guys,

I want to mount my ARB compressor under the bonnet of my 120 Prado, the most obvious space seems to be on the passenger side guard near the fuel filter.
Where have others mounted compressors? Was a bracket fabricated?
Any ideas/ advice appreciated.

Mick

Reckon you're right with the location. A bracket would make it look nice and level, but IMHO so long it is properly secured to the bodywork / mudguard, the electric motor & compressor pump won't care if it is mounted flat sideways, upside down, or on a funny angle. I looked at mine a while back and thought about drilling 4 holes in the guard and removing the rubber lugs on the bottom of the compressor housing and popping 4 bolts through the lot. May need to shift a small item or two first to make enough space depending on the size of the compressor. Decided against it for now because it would require a very long air hose to get to the caravan / trailer tyres, or having disconnect vehicle & drive alongside. Similar if you want to pump up someone elses tyre/s and you are on a narrow track. The 12v power cable + air hose together are long enough to achieve both those tasks. So the compressor sits in a nice plastic tool box and gets thrown in the back (so to speak) with the rest of the junk.

G'day 1KZ-Mick, Yeah as said in the previous post, you may need an extra length of hose. I located my compressor underneath the rear seat ( drivers side) so the original length of air hose can service not only all wheels on the DX but also the camper.
Just an idea for you

Hi 1KZ-Mick
I mounted mine to the inner guard on the left hand side.
Has done the gun barrell, ghan, simpson, fraser island with no probs. The hose supply's all wheels but may have trouble reaching the off side trailer wheels.
