Good Morning All
I am in the middle of kitting out a 2006 Hilux diesel.
Suspension done, Dual batttery system, canopy, Arb steel winch bullbar and side rails &
Snorkel.
I dont know too much about
winches though but Warn is the brand to go for. I am looking at a 9000lb Winch. I have seen one on ebay a Warn Tabor Winch which is
well priced but I was wanting to know if anyone has any experience with them?
The winch I am talking about is listed for $1200.00 plus postage.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Many Thanks
Morto

Morto,
Just bought a new hilux diesel myself and about to gear up!
The Tabor is a budget Warn apparently made in China we have fitted a few and no problems they work ok.

Thanks for the quick reply ACDC!
I trust the gear up goes ok and doesn't burn too much of a hole in your budget.
I am about to drop some 16 inch Cooper ST's on so I can enjoy my holidays next week.

Tabor, which was origianlly called Magnum and is distributed by ARB as their 'budget' winch. Have had a Magnum for a number of years and it was definitely made in the USA - is stamped on the clutch housing and detailed on the motor plate. They are an old design warn from the same factory as the warn
winches. They have a warn controller and a warn spare parts list.
Unless something has changed in the manufacture post the name change from Magnum to Tarbor I would think that the Tabor would also be made in the USA.

oh yeah, they use a Bosch motor and it has worked flawlessly over the years. It has had plenty of dunkings and still chugs away nicely. Had the clutch housing off in April when changing it bewtween cars and it looked brand new inside with no dirt /
water ingress.
I would recommend the Magnum / Tabor...but then again, I like the Ironman
suspension....right ACDC ;-)
