Hi there is there any one that is near Southern Cross, we are looking at heading that way in a couple of weeks doing one of the treks in western 4wder weekends out of Perth. It says that not recommended in the winter as the roads and some of tracks are boggy when wet. Just going on what rain we have had here in Perth I thinking that should not be much of a problem but hoped that some one could help with some info on how much rain and been trough the area lately.

Gday JAS095, well to start with mate, there is a bit of a gathering out that way next weekend.
Secondly try CALM Kalgoorlie...9080 5555. Speak to Tracy, she should be able to fill you in.

are you familiar with the out western 4wders book weekends out of Perth?

we are looking at the Mt Plamer trip in that as well a trip though the golden valley, the latter is the north side of highway between bodallin and merredin and the Mt palmer track is on the south side of the highway from yellowdine back to merredin

Inland has missed the most part of the rain that perth has had over the past weeks. We copped a day or 3 of light scattered showers, but that was a while back and all tracks around south of kal are dry.
