Hi Brian, Couldn't tell you if it was 'normal' as it was my first time, but the place was VERY busy. Not many spots left at the Caravan Park. The Variety Club Bash of Qld was also in town to swell numbers. Beer was expensive, but did'nt stop people drinking LOL.

Hi Brian,

You could start HERE but this is only predicted figures as far as I can tell. Some links through this page to email addy's of local identities out there that may have more accurate numbers.

Hope this helps,
Trevor.

There were 5,000 people which is normal. 2,000 (just under) in the caravan park, 117 planes x 3 people at airport, 500 at Variety, 180 at Cyst ic Fibrosis and the rest out on the Common - usually airport cont roller flies over common and river and does rough count - that's how we estimate.
Fuel prices not an issue t his year (not in Bir dsville anyway).
Overall on t rip fuel prices make up only 1/3 of actual expenses - doe search on here and see past research on that subject, quite interesting. Beer at $5 stubby would upset me more than cost of fuel ($1.54 diesel here)
