Hi Jayse76
Keep an eye on our road conditions. Read the comments.

We have the latest info on most of these tracks. I will be speaking to the guy who makes the decisions on the
creb track in the next day or two, It has been closed for the last 3 weeks even though they were doing maintence on the track I an not sure if it is open yet. The main problem is that it has been raining there and it does not dry out - even this time of year.
cheers

Security is mostly a superstition. It doesnt exist in nature. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

We were up there in July, and it was closed "never to be opened again" - would be great if they have changed their mind

Jayse, visit the wet tropics website at www.wettropics.gov.au and the detail you request is listed. It was inspected recently and is still closed. I have heard of a group driving British 4x4s that ignored the closed signs and I contacted the manager of the area and was informed that if anyone does use the track they are liable to hefty fines etc. Apart from any other considerations this is very irresponsible and lends support to the argument to close the track for ever. I have been watching to see if the track is open and as soon as it is am heading up to travel it as I don't think that it will be open to tourism for much longer.
Happy traveling.

We were up there in Aug. Track still closed at China
camp. It was so wet we could not even get into
Roaring Meg falls.

Access regulations to the
CREB Track, north of the
Daintree River, have changed since Mr. Keith Reynolds has bought the property through with the
CREB track passes. Travellers are requested to contact Mr Reynolds on 070-986-159 to inform him of your plans. No fees are charged at the moment. You are requested to leave the gates as found as cattle is using the property. The main
gate on the Track is at the moment unlocked but as soon as some one does the wrong thing this might change. All travellers are urged to do the right thing and not spoil it for each other!
however I am told that the track is closed.....
