Are you talking about the new Rangie 2.7lt TDV6, if so it will tow anything and has about 150Kw
If you have a Rangie that has been converted to the 2.5lt 300TDi engine then probably around 75Kw to 85Kw.
Yes there is a Rangie
forum, go to THIS LINK to find out more, or HERE TOO.

I think what Bill13 is talking about is the RR whichcame out with the BMW 2.5 6cyl TD which came out many years ago and of which very few were sold and as such are quite a rarity. Australia at that time was not ready for diesels in luxury vehicles.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Range Rovers have never had a 2.5litre diesel. Late 80s RR had a 2.4 litre italian marine diesel that was not very good. The current model RR has a BMW 3 litre straight 6 diesel (TD6) that has about 140kw. The Current RR sport has a v6 2.7 litre diesel (TDV6) as fitted to the Discovery 3.
The only 2.5 litre diesels are the 4 cylinder 200 and 300 TDIs or the 5 cylinder 2.5 litre TD5 but none of these were fitted to Range Rovers.
The 6 cylinder diesels are 140-150kw, the original 2.4 litre RR Diesel was only about 80 kw. The TD5 is 99 kw and the 200/300 TDs were between 85-80kw.
If the RR has a 2.5 litre diesel is is not original and has an engine fitted from another landrover model.

The LP Range Rover (95-02) actually came with a BMW 2.5L TD engine in europe.
There are some in Australia, all private imports of course. The engine was quite under powered for such a heavy vehicle, very thursty and noisey. Most models were sold with a manual g/box which as
well was BMW sourced.
I would not recommend towing with that vehicle due to lack of power and the fact that they did overheat quite often under heavy load. (Thats in europe where the climate is a bit different than here.)
Cheers
