I know this is something that has been covered before but I'll ask again anyway...
Want to carry a second spare, alternatives are find another 17 inch wheel for the second spare (you don't want to know what nissan wants for one) or replace the existing
wheels with 16 inch
wheels...but that means I have to buy 6 of them but tyres will be easier to find going forward...
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Have you thought of an aftermarket rim as your apare? No one will know the difference if you cover it with an ExploreOz spare wheel cover!!!! And when you fit it to your 4by in an emergency it doesn't matter what it looks like.
Just another idea to consider.
Cheers Andrew

I use a skinny 750R16 as a "spacesaver" 2nd spare - its the same diameter as 265/75R16. If you have 265/70R17 tyres, they are also the same diameter.

Just to add, you'd need to check that a Nissan split rim or Navara rim will fit your Patrol.

I like that sort of thinking if you really feel you need a 2nd spare.

G'day Mark,
where are you located?
Just last week I checked with Tyrepower in
Geelong regards a 2nd 17" spare for a Prado.
As it turned out I didn't need it, but they quoted 2nd hand wheel with tyre for $ 90 - 100.
Let me know if you want their phone number.
Cheers,
Mike

Mike is onto the right place.
The tyre retailers, especially the ones that sell a lot of after market
wheels often have OE stuff lying around that they are happy to sell at reasonable prices.
I got 16" NIssan
wheels for my camper a few years back. Nissan price was $360 for just one wheel, no tyre. Got the three I needed from 2 seperate dealers with matching tyres for $350 all up.

Just did this on Saturday, I purchased a 17" x8 king rim for my good stock spare and i fitted the new silent armours to the 5 alloys they look good.
i have tied the spare king rim to the back of the cargo barrier.
