Got it done yesterday and drives great, steering wheel is back to centre. The steering felt good after the lift but responded quicker to slight turns of the wheel. All gone now, feels better than before the lift.
Now hopefully my low water alert arrives tommorrow, have to try out a new tinny to toss on our camper on Saturday,Sunday might go fishen and now Mondays a PH who knows. Cheers all Nick

Gday Nick, all sounds good. Where did you get it done? The low water alert gives me great sense of security, and I test it regularly. ($6500.00 lesson). Getting a boat to - very good. The Barra should be fired up now that there is a bit of heat around!

Is that a stessl ? and what size and year is it? Also the motor size as that is around what I am looking for.

Thanks

Gday Nick

Unfortunately I'm stuck at work until tuesday, so no Rodeo for me. Just below Ivanhoe is pretty good - cross over and turn rt(downstream) & there is a few little beaches etc. Putting a boat in at Buttons crossing is pretty good. Good camping and a nice stretch of river down to 'D4'. There is a couple of nasty rocks in the middle of the river a few k's down from buttons boatramp, just below the surface & have claimed many props and skegs, and at least one entire gearbox I've been told.

Cheers Andrew

Gday Brian

Yep, its a stessl. its 5.2m, not sure what year, will try to find out if I can find the rego papers on Wednesday. Its got a Honda 90hp, which has been fantastic so far - fitted new about 18 months ago. Its a little heavy at the back, which is only noticeable at low speeds when the sea is up and the fuel load up the front is all but gone.

Its a really good size - small enough for most situations in rivers, big enough for offshore. Easily handled on and off the trailer on my own, and made it to Kalumburu no problems. In comparison to many other boats around the 5m mark, it is a little narrower and smaller feeling - which is a positive in my case. Gets 2.5km + per litre, compared with 1.6 with the old 2 stroke it used to have, and will top out at 65kph, which could be higher with the right prop.

Cheers Andrew
