I'm interested to hear from anyone who has had a cargo barrier fitted to their 100 Series recently.
I'd like to know what sort of pricing I'd be up for & who (in Melbourne) would be the best (read cheapest) for doing the job properly.
Cheers
Greg

Any idea on what the cost of one of these set up's are? They look pretty decent.

Emo,

I had a half barrier made up that fits on top of the _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx - cost was about $400 fitted. Col also then made me the crap rack which is a pull down rack fitted to the cargo barrier that stores stuff in the roof space - excellent setup. Cost was also about $400. His workmanship is outstanding. Highly recommended.

I've actually been thinking recently of making one myself, but with much larger tube section so that it has strength similar to a roll bar. Seen quite a few 4WD rollovers where the cabin area was totalled. Not sure where I would mount it exactly though. Anyone ever done this?

I was about to say the same, Tom seems to have a heap of 4WD accessories at much better prices than the the bigger retailers.

Greg,

There are usually a few on eBay going at ridiculous prices. I should know, I just sold one and got $81 for it. :-(

At that price, I would have cut it up and used it for other purposes...just my luck.

Mostly they go for about $150 though. You may have to go to Milford and get some bolts and fitting instructions also.

I sold mine due to the fittment of _Affordable_Storage_Drawers.aspx and 1/2 barrier.

Cheers,

Mark

Don't want to put a spanner in the works..but..make sure any barrier you fit complies to Aus standards ...unless it complies you are throwing your dollars away ...IMHO..

And in my view the fitting of the side/roof mountings is the snag - not the barrier ! Saw a pro fit mine to our Jack on site - bas*^#@d of a job - very fiddly and the potential for buggering up moulded panels mountings is high while trying to find out how they all go together. May be easier in other models - Even the pro slipped up with his drill on te roof line - put a ding in my outer skin - had to get a minor panel repair at his cost ! BTW- TJM is SA are $504 for the 100 series - plus $145 for fitting - ARB about the same. Not sure of the smaller players - might be better - some of them just get the mobile installer to pop around".
