This is an MP3 player by Creative, which i acquired recently.

Help desk is in Singapore, and difficult to understand the directions for use.

Anyone got one?

Hi Peter,
My daughter has Creative Zen. Don't know about your model though, but I think from memory the instructions are on their web site.
Otherwise ask a kid! LOL

Thanks Steve,
Its a Neeon 6G, and your suggestion about finding a kid might be the answer.

Have tried to battle through the instructions, but they omit the basic operations of an MP3 which an oldie like me does not know.

Pedro, I just had a quick look at the website and it does have basic 'how to' instructions. My daughter could possibly help if you get desperately stuck. I have downloaded music for her but stuffed if I can drive the thing like she does.

Pedro,
One of the reasons that people prefer the Ipod was the ease of use compared to the Zen. My daughter preferred the Zen as it came with all the accessories whereas with the Ipod, they are all add-ons and expensive. She does not have trouble with the controls but I must admit that I do.
The best place to organise your files and folders is on the computer. I assume that you have loaded a disc which would have come with the player, and you will find the means within that.
My daughter works 2 jobs (supporting her aging father) so I wont see her til Sat morning. If she thinks she can help, I'll send you a member message.
Regards,
Steve

Hi Peter
This web site deals with the player concerned but I doubt if you will learn much from it but watch the little picture of one on the top

Doug,
it is probably me, but that link gives as much info as the one i have been looking at.

If you go to their site that Steve gave you will see what I mean.

Mine is a Zen Neeon 6G and it is not shown, but I can find out how to jazz the other models up.

Hi Peter R, I have the same ZEN as is shown on their PDF manual. took me a while to master it until I turned down the sensitivity of the control panel. It would take off to other places if I just put my finger over it. I have put all the music I have on C D's on it and still have much space left (16gb) on it. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. Spent 3 days 'ripping' ( which, by the way, is also a means of charging the battery) then on the 4th day it wouldn't switch on. Plugged it into the power adapter/charger thingy, then tried the computer method. This was during the Xmas/New yrs break, so no tech help, am still waiting for return call. Fixed it by pressing the reset button. If you can, turn the backlighting and all other power wasters, down/off. I can only get 6hrs usage before recharge necessary, which is a bit inconvenient when on the road and all available power is needed by fridges etc. Just bought my daughter a Samsung which has 35 hrs playback time, but can only be recharged by attaching to a computer USB, which is basically the same problem. Am thinking of getting a lithium battery for it as I'm sure they've got some cheapo thing in it, even tho they say not to touch anything inside it. Any way, be patient and good luck, if this 60 yr old chook can operate one of these new fangled things there's plenty of hope left yet.

Ozesheila,
Good to hear you have mastered it.
I have a few years on you so you can understand my problem.

Tell me how did you adjust the sensitivity?
That might be worth a try .

Hi Peter,
1 = go to Menu,
2 = run finger VERY LIGHTLY down the list to System,
3 = Very Lightly press centre of centre pad to Select,
4 = Go to Player Settings + Select.
5 = Go to Touch Pad + Select,
6 = Select Sensitivity and Lightly STROKE centre pad till required sensitivity is enabled.
If all else fails repeat steps 1-6 using a feather.
Have Fun.

Thanks Ozesheila, that worked.

Just found out that my understanding of the instructions was the problem.

I was trying to get it to play by pusing in the scroller, where the play/pause button was the one.

Now working, thanks to all
