Hi can anyone recomend conto field camping in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park? We are thinking of going down for a few nights in the school holidays with the kids, but don't want to pay huge amounts of money for camping in the caravan parks.
We have not been there before and wonder if its a good spot to take the kids?

We stayed there in May 2005. Camping for two of us was $12 a night. Great spot fireplaces, timber supplied. Lots of trees for shade, toilets. Could have easily stayed more than the one night in fact in my diary I made note that could have spent a number of days there. Could be crowded or even full in your school holidays though.
Cheers

If Conto's is full, try Point Rd, it is off Boranup drive and on most maps. Each time we go there is never anyone there. It has a long drop, lovely Peppi trees and friendly possums (if you like them in your tent) I is a wee bit of a drive to the beach, but has some great bush round it most notably the Karri forrest.
