The WIA have just published an updated repeater list for Oz:

No problem.

I think you have some professional connection with radios etc so you may well find you don't need to do the training course and that simply a careful reading of the manual will be sufficient.

Certainly for anyone who goes bush an Amateur Radio is a very useful tool to have and a lot of fun too :)

Mike,

No actual professional connection other than regular user (read...no tech training) but have had an interest over the years and friends who are amateurs so probably have the 'basic' knowlege required for Foundation, but would have to study a bit to get the electronics up to speed for anything higher..
