G'day Everyone

I've just bought my first 80 series Landcruiser and have a set of Hella spot lights fitted but not wired up. If anyone out there could provide with the know how, it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Note: This is for an illuminated switch.

We also carry the Lightforce wiring kits in stock if you need one.

The diagrame above wont work in the 80...you need to splice into the low beam negitive wire on an outside light and the diagramm above will then work....see the 80 has power to lights all the time, and switches negitive....when high beam is running, power is available on the low neg terminal to control the relay.
Worked on my 80.

No problem. Just take the relay earth to the other wire on the highbeam globe.

Drerk, i hope you arnt offended that i spoke up....i know the 80 has positive to the globe when low or high is on, and switches negitive, which means following the diagramme would cause spotties to be on at all times the ights were on (unless it was switched off at the relay control switch, which is then not legal)
The diagramme is completely correct, but if you run the control wire to low negitive (instead of how its shown using positive) it will work properly.
Alternately you can splice into high beam negitive and run that wire to terminal 85 on the relay (instead of earth) and get power from ignition not the headlight.
The second option is politically the most correct way.

Thanks Andrew,

As I said use the high beam earth to earth the relay.

Derek/Dozer

Thanks for all your help and input. The lights are all wired up. The spotties aren't the best going around but I will source a better quality set when the budget allows me too.

Cheers
