Howdy,
I am going to buy a new (for me) patrol and would like the coil cab GU
Does anyone know if the Cab chasis noisier on corrugations and rough roads than the wagon?
Also is the ute less capable off road than the wagon? Maybe because of the tray overhang or lack of weight in the tray?
Along with the odd longer trip we spend a fair bit of time at 4wd parks on our weekends and don't really want to be slipping down hills or hung up in
creek beds that the wagons just cruise through :)
Cheers Jim

Hi Batboy, I have recently gone from a GU wagon to a GU coil Cab and from what I have been able to achieve thus far I'd say that the CC is more capable than the wagon. The tray overhang you fear is just not an issue - the wagon's bum compared to the utes bum there is a huge difference; the bottom lowest point of my tray is almost three feet off the ground - now the wagon wouldn't come close would it?
Lack of weight in the tray? Mines steel and the back end of the CC is much better behaved than my wagon ever was!
Send me a PM if you want if you would like to know more.
Best regards,
Craig.

Thanks Craig, I like the look of your camper too. Looks like the setup we (I) want
Missus likes the trailer though. Problem is you just can't take a trailer everywhere we want to go.
Cheers

We've got a ute and a wagon and the wagon "feels" more comfy (I think it's in our heads) but you sure can fit a hell of a lot of gear in the ute!

Both vehicles empty I reckon the wagon is more Comfy. Thing is I never expect it will be empty :)

Thanks Davoe, I think I may have read a post of yours about the bosses driving the wagons and the boys in the utes. Wagons got trashed.
