I hope you got the owners manual with the vehicle as you need to read it so you can find the right oil to use, unless someone on the site works for an oil company or is a engineer, I would trust the manual.

I agree with Richard... read the manual for the correct grade of oil.
However I would think that
Caltex Delo 400 15W40 or Shell Rimular X 15W40 should be a good choise

I had two diesel Prados. The 1KZ-TE is not fussy. Regular changes are more important than brand.
Any 15W40 CF grade or greater diesel engine oil will do.
Although Castrol recommends Magnatec 10W40.
I use Gulf Western and Fuchs in recent times - get the 20litre drums at a good price from the truck shops.

Perusal of the Toyota web site in the UK, appears to indicate that on the 1KDFTV motor, using synthetic oils (which give added protection) they are running more than 5,000 kms between changes.
When you consider that it our ML270, we used to change the oil and filter every 12,000 kms, which was half the indicated time, using synthetic oil in CRD engines appears to be the way to go.
Any one any thoughts on this matter.

Col
