The shadow is the givaway. Unles a different sun shone on the plane than shone on the trees the superimposed plane shadow in the pic is most likely some kind of freak result of whatever process is involved getting these images.
If this was a real, very low flying, plane then there ought to be a shadow of it just in front of it. If it was flying high then there ought to be a shadow further ahead of it.
I have not bothered to look for that nor to look at the pic in side elevation and see where the plane is then located.

How interesting! But is the image real? How do you get a large passenger jet into that location? The paddock that it is sitting in is nowhere near long enough to land an aircraft of that size in. Trust me, I'm a pilot. And the size of the paddock is even more compromised by the surrounding hilly terrain, meaning that an aeroplane must make a fairly steep approach over the hills before flaring out to land, which means that the paddock is further foreshortened as a landing site. The presence of two small trees in the middle of the paddock further reinforce the notion that the plane could not have landed there.

Was the plane trucked in? And then reassembled? I doubt it, although the tail section of the plane looks like it has been detached from the rest of the fuselage.

Also what is that mysterious red and blue shape to the south-west of the plane. It looks like the outline of a similar aeroplane superimposed over what appears to be a hay shed. The presence of the shed means that this was not a former parking place for the plane, which was subsequently moved.

So my question is this: Can Google Earth be hacked to insert spurious images?

Ah Dusty..as a pilot, you should know to 'think outside the square'.
Yes, the 'shadow' to the left is a clue !!

Ah! I see what's happened. The plane just happened to be flying overhead when the satellite snapped the photo. The red and blue image is its shadow on the ground (lines up with the direction of the shadows of the trees). Gee, the plane must be low - just climbing out of Canberra airport, I suppose.

ok, if you look out at Mickelham rd north of melb, just south of mickelham, after the roundabout, you will see the nose and forward fuselage section of one of our old fokker f28's in a guys front yard to the west of the road. We cut up a few years back when they had run out of airframe hours, and its pretty strange where they ended up.
