I went up to the lost city and glow worm tunnel yesterday. The road to the tunnel is a bit sh1thouse, a couple of very big pot holes that can sneek up on you.
Just wondering if anyone has been down to the bottom of the lost city and swam in the dam down there? Thinking of heading back there in summer and going down the bottom.

Have not been to the glow worm tunnel for about 25 years can you still drive to Newnes via the old coach rd used to be a turn off to the right a 1klm or so before the first tunnel was a rough track

That sounds like the one. Its a dirt road 2 or 3 car widths wide in most places but does get down to one.
You park up and walk for the last km, all well signposted.

I have had a look at the maps and it does look like it can be done by coming down around the south but in saying that they are topo maps that have probably not been updated for years.
Looking on google earth, there is also a disused airstrip and some other type of working mine a couple of clicks up the road also.

Yep mate just come back from there last weekend, same thing huge potholes which weere virtually impossible to see till you are on top of them, he did his battery in on his way home as he had some new driving lights fitted by the sparky 1 day before and they didnt do his battery clamp back up tight enough and obviously from hitting a few of the potholes his battery slid across onto his air con compressor and by the time he got home here to Glenmore park it had grinded a nice slice out of his 2 week old battery and sprayed acid all over engine bay ripping paint off all metal parts except his inner guards, wasnt happy to say the least. Sparkie reckons he did up tight so no come back at them.So pays to check your battery when driving over some huge potholes. Regards Steve M
