Housemate was showing me her Hilux and asking if we could take it somewhere. its a bit upmarket with cloth seats and power windows and apparently auto locking hubs. Yep a quick glance reveled no locking mechanism. i figured it worked the same as the tritons at work. so it was off to the powerlines where things went no where fast just alot of spinning. I was checking around for some additional button or something - but nothing. I finally had another look at the
wheels and noticed they were actually aftermarket
wheels. Closer inspection revealed a little tab which flicked off a cover reavealing...... manuel locking hubs, Whoops all proceeded prety
well after that. DOH!!

Nothing compares to the feeling when you really impress the ladies with your knowledge of things mechanical.....

LOL!!
Yeah I just whacked some 4runner manual hubs on the surf the other day, hopefully it will stop the CV boots scrubbing out all the time with the daily driving.

Last year on my way to the Big Smoke I came across this bloke near
Ouyen in Victoria with a brand new Holden Ute with low profile tyres. One of them was flat. He was having trouble with the jack at first so I used the trollery jack to lift the ute. Then he stated that the genuine wheel brace was the wrong one as it didnt fit. I was puzzled too, so grabbed my old 4 pronged wheelbrace and found an aperture that fitted.
It was then that the plastic cover came off the wheel nut..........LOL

I plead some mitigating circumstances. She told me they were auto locking. I didnt think hiluxes had them but my initial glance (I did look) revealed no locking tabs
