Hi all, i'm looking at trading my commodore in on a '92 Pajero V6... I'm wondering if anyone can offer some advice as to what they are like (comfortability, fuel consumption, towing, etc)... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers in advance... Brad

Friends say that they are very thirsty. I have a diesel of that vintage and am very pleased with it for comfort and ability off road.

I have been watchinh those too and interested to know. For not a lot of money you get a top of range 7 seater in TD or petrol. Seems like good value, I wonder what the deal breaker is with them, if they had a toyota badge they would get more.

A 1992 would be a 3000cc as opposed to 3500cc. The 3000 Has a little less power but if the timing belt breaks there is no damage. the 3500 becomes disaster street if it breaks. I get 11.3L/100km no load semi rural driving.
mine is 3000cc manual SWB. They are fantastic for what you get for the money as their resale is low which is good for the buyer not the seller. Look at around 15L/100km under tow. they are very torquey but not a power house. very common for leaking rocker cover gaskets and make sure it selects 4WD properly as it is done through vacuum and the solonoids sometimes give grief but has never happened to me. once you get used to the funny shift in the transfer Fantastic. 4Wd is really All wheel drive and then you have 4WD lock whick locks transfer for 50/50 4WD. Check out these guys they have everything on this site.

Hi there howesy, my neighbour has the exact vehicle, 92 model etc, he says he's getting about 15 round town stop start ,air con etc, he has had the problem with the solonoids, they are working fine now but apparently is a common problem due to not being used so they gum, (this is what the mechanic said) but since he has had no problem just whacks her in 4wd every now and then just to keep them working. He said the only thing that annoys him not a mechanical issue is that they rev high. His is a manual and finds that at 110klm its sitting at around 3400 rpm but that is the only issue. Another common problem is that there is a pipe that runs the coolant from the
water pump to the rear of the motor but is lodged in under the inlet manifold has a common problem of leaking but once fixed are ok, but is a big job to repair which he has also had done. Other than a couple of minor things he loves it very comfortable and as mentioned very torquey motor so dont require to have the bleep revved out them between gears. He payed $6800 of ebay for his with 270klm on the clock manual, GLS with full service history by mitsibishi since day one. Does not blow an ounce of smoke even on start up or after idling for a while. Very capable vehicle with the good old seperate chassis and plenty of after market stuff available.
