1992 Mitsubishi Pajero GLX

Hi there howesy, my neighbour has the exact vehicle, 92 model etc, he says he's getting about 15 round town stop start ,air con etc, he has had the problem with the solonoids, they are working fine now but apparently is a common problem due to not being used so they gum, (this is what the mechanic said) but since he has had no problem just whacks her in 4wd every now and then just to keep them working. He said the only thing that annoys him not a mechanical issue is that they rev high. His is a manual and finds that at 110klm its sitting at around 3400 rpm but that is the only issue. Another common problem is that there is a pipe that runs the coolant from the water pump to the rear of the motor but is lodged in under the inlet manifold has a common problem of leaking but once fixed are ok, but is a big job to repair which he has also had done. Other than a couple of minor things he loves it very comfortable and as mentioned very torquey motor so dont require to have the bleep revved out them between gears. He payed $6800 of ebay for his with 270klm on the clock manual, GLS with full service history by mitsibishi since day one. Does not blow an ounce of smoke even on start up or after idling for a while. Very capable vehicle with the good old seperate chassis and plenty of after market stuff available. Regards Steve M market
