Just got some bad news from the Mitsubishi dealer. I am having trouble with my Exceed SatNav unit and am told the company has gone broke and that they can not fix it.
Has anyone got any experience in this. what is recommended. I am going balistic at Mitsubishi but they don't seem to care. 60K car and no service.

Why should they care, they have your money. And there is no prospect of them making any money out of your problem.
Now you know the meaning of CON sumer.
I would whinge as far up the Mitzu tree as possible. Write to their head office in Japan if necessary.

Check the Pajero Club of Victoria website - this is a known issue. Lots of posts on it on that
forum.

Come to think of it I think the main issue was that map updates were no longer available for the existing units because the company had gone broke - MMA were offering replacement units at a couple of grand each, because technically, the existing units weren't broken - they functioned fine but the maps slowly became out of date.
A broken unit however - yeah, if it's under warranty, they should be replacing it with the new model. Not your fault if it died under warranty and MMA can't source a replacement from the OEM.

If it's still under warranty and is OE (Original Equipment) fitted they MUST either repair or replace it. It's their problem, not yours.
If it is after market by Mitsubishi Australia you may have a problem.
Original Equipment parts must have a certain amount of spares (P&A) available in the market place to service 10 years minimum (I think) expected requirements.
I know for a fact that MMAL were removing in-dash 6 stacker cd players and installing Sat-Nav in Pajero's. Whether this counts as OE or aftermarket however I do not know.
Keep calm and stay firm with your arguments for repair or fair replacement.
Good luck
Dan
