Guys
I have been playing around with Nroute and mapsource the other day but i can't work out how to import my own waypoints? does anyone know how to do this, there is no import function in the latest version of mapsource

No expert on mapsource - but suspect you will need to convert your data using something like gpsbabel www.gpsbabel.org/
There is also an online version www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/
Other option is to upload them to your gps using the program you downloaded them with in the first place then download them again into mapsource.
Depending on what format they are in you could also use OziExplorer to import then, save as GPX format and then open in mapsource.
The best/easiest method you choose to use is to a certain extent dependant on what format the files are in now - you dont state this. What format are they?

Essentially mapsource is there to download or upload waypoints, tracks, maps and
routes into or from a Garmin GPS.
You can create them manually in Mapsource or open a pre-existing file created from earlier versions of Mapsource. It's not actually a waypoint Manager per se.
Nroute works the same except its Import option loads from a Mapsource (.gdb) file or from the GPS directly.
