Bruce,
I can't tell you if they are all in Camps Australia 3, since I still have the Camps 2 guide. That one was pretty much out of date when we went on or big trip around Oz in 2004-2005. I hope the new one is better.
Anyway if it's actually only the
State Forest in NSW you are after, you might not have to buy a guide book at all.
The NSW department of primary industry's website (
http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/forests) has a pdf brochure for each reagion of NSW
listing all campgrounds in state forests. Either click on "
Recreation / Plan your escape" or use the links below.

Hope this helps
Cheers Wolf

Thanks for that Wolf, really what I needed at the moment. I read where I can have the pooch in
state forest of NSW and am planning a trip in Northern NSW in January next year, great.
Cheers Bruce.

Hi Bruce,
I don't know how far Nth you are planning to go but there is no information that I can find on that site about anywhere further Nth than Kempsey way.
There is a book called '
Bush Camping with Dogs' that covers all the State Forests Australia-wide and is sold in the '
shop' on this site.

Looked through my copy of Camps3. The book says it has State Forests but they don't seem to be specifically listed as
State Forest. It does indicate whether dogs are allowed or not at sites but I don't know how accurate that is. Contact phone numbers are provided where available.

G'day Bruce and Anne. Our experience is that CAW3 is aimed more at caravanners than 4WDers, and emphasises free or inexpensive
camping areas on main
routes. Consequently there are very few sites shown in the forestry areas. The Forestry folk have advised me that we can basically
camp anywhere in the native forests, but only
camp in the cleared areas between coupes in the pine forests. And of course, no
camping where logging operations are in progress. Pets ok. NSW Forestry does publish brochures for some forest areas with info on campsites, but the coverage and detail are not comprehensive. Best to ring/call your local office to enquire. FYI the Land Rover Club ACT has published a CD of campgrounds in SE NSW, several of which are in forestry areas. Details at www.lrc.org.au/cgcorner/web/index.htm Good hunting!
