Hello
We are back from Fraser and I need to give the Patrol a good wash underneath. I used to put a sprinkler under it, but we are not allowed to do that now with the
water restrictions. It got one at
Rainbow, but I always like to give it another going over at home.
Anybody know of a decent place to do an underbody wash on the southside of
Brisbane?
Many Thanks
Noel

I got one done at
rainbow last year, didn't think to do it a second time, it removed so much other carp from under the LC80 we had at the time I thought the salt must have been long gone. I saw painted surfaces that I didn't know existed, she looked brand new. all the built up mud and cow sh1t was gone.
do you really need a second wash???
one thing they don't warn you about at the
rainbow one is how hot it gets inside the car, i left the ac and fan on while I went through, hot
water on the ac condensor renders it useless so it blew hot air......
put that down to experience....

The guy who did my rust proofing said not to use those
places as they might remove the rust prevention, I think it was the additive that is in the
water.

Crawled under today and there is more exposed metal than I remember, maybe you are right and some of the rust-proofing has been lifted - or it just as a result of being on
the beach - dunno!
Thanks everybody

The wash on the road to Cooloola (on the North Shore) has some type of oil in the
water. Great before going on
the beach but when come off and give it another spray the overspray goes onto your paintwork and by the time you get back to Brisvegas it looks like you driven across half the outback cause all the dust and dirt sticks to it and with the current restrictions is a shocker to clean in the front yard with the stickybeak neighbours counting
water drops. Another suggestion instead of a high pressure underbody wash is to get your environmentally conscious trigger nozzle (blast, drench or mist till your hearts content), a bit of canvas, a pair of goggles and a six pack at night and spend some quality time under your truck. Perfect on a hot summers night :)
Gotta use less
water than an underbody wash plus you can check to make sure everything is still attached or where it should be.

We utilised the facilities of Car Lovers at Underwood when we came off
the beach from Moreton in June and Fraser in July. Due to
water restrictions now the line up to get to the car wash at sometimes in the day can be a bit long so you may have to wait in line.

I worry that with those under body washes at Cooloola and
Rainbow, If they use recycled
water - surely there is salt in the
water from vehicles coming off
the beach? Will that be pressured further into the body seams than any driving on
the beach?

Mikee5 ,you have just won the the prize for common sense , take a Bex and have a little lie down , of course spraying salt and sand recycled
water onto the vehicle does no harm , just as pigs dont fly .
