LPG on trailer

Hi all
My brother in-law is looking for a off road trailer with a LPG holder and has noticed that the ones he has looked at all use the 4.5 kg bottles now ??? why and dose this apply to older trailers which I have one of and carry a 9kg bottle . also he was told somthing about where jerry cans are to be placed any info ???

My CT has a gas bottle holder and 2, 10ltr jerry can holders on each side of the trailer. 4 kg bottle because they fit into of the sides of the trailer, (tent section overhangs the sides the trailer). You could easily fit a 9 kg bottle on the front of the trailer on the drawbar(need to consider towball downweight)
I believe the jerry cans need to be placed at the front of the trailer and not the sides, to avoid an explosion in case of a side impact in an accident. Check with your states road and traffic authority.
