Can anyone tell me anything about the Fich Fuel Catalyst. I have a 2002 GU11 3.0l Patrol with 170000km and I am trying to improve my fuel economy.
A friend of mine has had it for 6 months and swears on it, but I have heard that it does no good to the fuel pump.
Any advise would be great.

Not very nice Gerhard, and that advice could could well be relavent to yourself, Jimmy could be " Bill", could be a mate of Bill or could very well be a normal member of the public that has stumbled across an extremely informative and popular forum and thought he'd ask an innocent question hoping for some help.
Do you REALLY know which of the above he is before you gave your extremely rude answer ?

Reading it again, I don't think that 'Jimmy' is 'Bill' as I don't think that Bill would incorrectly spell the name of his own product, I didn't think he was THAT stupid........was he ?
Could still be a mate he's convinced though.

The general consensus of opinion here is that they don't work, & the very mention of them is like a "red rag to a bull".

A couple of people here have tried the them & have recorded no appreciable improvement, in either performance or economy.

You will save a lot more fuel ...... by simply "wiping off five".

let's just say the promoter of the product is no longer welcome by management on this forum due to multiple previous complaints against them.

Contact the promoter direct if you must, but the general feeling of people on this forum is that the whole "marketing hype" about the product is a) unsubstantiated by any recent proof, b) based almost soley on testimonial evidence provided principly by the promoters, and c) no simple dyno evidence provided on any non carburetted vehicle to substantiate their claims.

Most ricers have their vehicles on a dyno every weekend or two, but the promoters always had an excuse as to why the couldn't put any vehicle on a dyno, EVEN WHEN OFFERED A VEHICLE TO DO IT WITH ('but we will be doing it soon...")

"Soon" never came, (after about 12-18 months).

Save your money and enjoy your spare time....(rather than stuffing around with these ppl)

Seperated the promoter from the product???

Note that this is primarily what my post was addressed to.

As to why they are still here after the grief they have caused on this site, that is a matter to discuss with David, I guess...

Concentrate on the state of tune and condition of your vehicle, tyres, filters, diesel quality and even perhaps tracking down some Biodiesel if you can get it with the occassional dose of diesel fuel cleaner or FTC Decarboniser , see www.costeffective.com.au. This would be a better bet in my opinion although I have not tried or used the Fitch solution. Wiping off 5 is guaranteed to work also.
