We have spent over 25 years
camping in a variety of tents and now would like to buy a small off road camper. We are looking at a CUB Kamparoo or Escape, or a Trek Bwana, and would appreciate any comments and/or feedback about these units, especially the Trek Bwana.
Thanks, Mark

Mark,
The best peice of advice I could give you is to 'try before you buy' and go out and hire each of these campers for a weekend trip away, that way you will get the best feel for them rather than someone else's opinion. I did this when I was looking at buying a campertrailer and I am glad I did because I found the one I wanted and suited me.
Contact the manufactures and they should be able to supply you with the contact details of who hires out their trailers. BTW - once you get one you wont regret it.

HI Mark
If small/lightweight is a major factor, I would also look at the Camel Group series.
I have a Nomad with extra springs which will handle light offroad work. For a short
stay it's so simple to put up: level trailer, unzip cover, pull up frame, insert two end poles
in the tent, bang in two ground pegs - done. if windy add 4 guy ropes. Bed is already made
up - estimated time from stop to sack, say 5 mins.
We also have the 15' x 8' awning and fully enclosed sides which does take an hour or more
to assemble but
well worth it for a longer stay. total livable area is equivalent to a 30' caravan. I have a few photos of the camper on my bits & pieces blog page
www.linuxscreenshots.blogspot.com
Whatever camper-trailer you choose, it will be the best thing you ever did and I'm not biased (much)
cheers

I had a Trek Bwana, it was ok, but the woman who runs the show, tread lightly. If you need after sales service, be careful. Enough said.

We have a Cub Escape offroad, and are very happy with the unit overall.
Very quick and easy to set up, lightweight with plenty of storage.
Handles the rough corragated roads no problems and the " hard floor" is definetly a bonus as apposed to "soft floor " types.
Happy
Camping !!

I saw the reply from T-Ribby. The Camel group campers are definitely worth a look. We had a look at a lot of campers in the
Brisbane area, Light and heavy duty; and found the Camel campers to be a very good product. We opted for the discovery which is a bit more heavy duty, but the Nomad is a excellent light duty camper.
