Can anyone tell me please if I can cross from Vic to NSW on Monument Track outside the winter closed season? Or is this crossing permanently closed?
NB. I mean Monument Track at approx. 36d 55.94mS by 148d 31.82mE which is east of the
Snowy River and NE of
Mount Taylor. I believe there is another Monument Track near Craigs Hut (and probably a few others scattered around for all I know :)

Can't find Narracoorte Bonz.
Mounment Track is NW of
Amboyne Crossing (Vic) and leads into Kosciuszko NP, it's also about 20km west of Tingaringy (NSW).
Vic map 8624-3-3 Amboyne

Hi Mike,
There is a
locked gate on the
sandy creek fire trail on the
snowy river end. I have been on the corrowong road side and don't recall a
gate but i would be surprised if there wasn't a
gate. I have been fire fighting down that way a few times and know that you can access some of the
trails from adjoining farms. Maybe give the NPWS at
Bombala a call and ask about access to the Meramego area.
I also don't think any of the
trails at that end of the
park would be closed during winter as that area isn't a alpine area.
Cheers Dave

Thanks for that Dave, very helpful. I'll give NPWS a call too.

I'm surprised to hear that because it's in the Alpine NP on the Vic side and has
Mount Tingaringy at 1450m a little to the SE. Perhaps it's just the way these things are classified for administrative purposes?
