Just got back from a 2 week holiday. The 2nd week was spent on
Kangaroo Island and Member "Lucy" was there with bells on.
My goodness, is that a piece of chit or what??? LOLOL It has this large growth on it's bonnet that needs some serious attention. Many people have commented on here that my GU has a few modifications and additions. Bloody hell, it looks like it's just rolled off the showroom floor (accessory-wise) compared to "LUCY". She's got got twin overhead double cams on the aircompressors (3 off); Umpteen
driving lights; 17 aerials poking up from the roof line and triple air lockers in each diff. The bell-housing is pressurised so as to prevent rust (or something). The 4
winches are all powered by 3 deep cycle batteries (each). There are 200 litres of
water in a belly
tank and the same amount of diesel. Under that massive bonnet there are 2 turbos (one is just a back-up.....not connected (that would be just plain silly, wouldn't it!!).
When he cranks it over with the crank handle through the bullbar, there is a massive plume of bluish/black smoke (and you all thought that KI had bushfires recently). One day, when he cranked it over, there was a fire-fighting chopper with 500 litres of
water in a belly-bag......our
camp nearly wore the lot cos
the pilot thought it was a hot-spot from the nearby fires!!!!
Oh boy, what an experience I've had over the past week.....a VERY steep learning curve. Also, I found that the
young bloke has a weak spot for honey ice-cream!!!!

"17 aerials poking up from the roof" probably uses it to hide in the bush disguised as a spinafex bush.. lol

Sounds just like it was last time I saw her at the OBC Roachie I guess by now he has patched all the tyres he punctured on her to get there. Three compressors is a limit, but I had noticed Lucy has her shoes pumped as quickly as any. So pleased you had a good discovery time though Roachie, with Lucy and KI. Glad you didn't get the chopper disgorge it's belly
tank though, even though Lucy may deserve it.

G'day John,
Some of what I said will possibly be refuted by Member "Lucy" (I'd be disappointed in him if he didn't try to do so)......but, be that as it may, he still has a lot to answer for. One thing that begs an answer is "How much did he have to pay the engineer (who provided him with the certificate and plate) to bribe him to mark it as "road-worthy"?????? I bet that bloke has now retired to the Bahammas with the sizable loot he must have extracted; lolling around
the pool day in, day out, sipping peena-coladas.
Cheers
Roachie

Oh boy, Jealousy is such a curse.
I can see the headlines now, "Roachie finally agrees, Nisaaan is a bucket of Pus and he FINALLY upgrades to Yota" LOL
Only one reason to buy a Nisaaan and I sent you that the other day.
Sounds like the trip was a load of fun. Hope you enjoyed it.

Nah, thats not how it was at all. Right from the start we saw Lucy looking at all the Nissans green with envy.
It was then i realised that the black raised bonnet was all about disguising the fact the poor fella was still in a Yota.
I offered him a drive of
mine but he was content to watch myself and my 2
young kids at the wheel.(Guess he was scared of the horsepower in front of a crowd)
Oh
well maybe next time, oh.... and Al old mate its never too late to upgrade :)

G'day Brew,
I'v already upgraded, from the 60 series to the 100. Anyhing else would be downhill.
The green look in Lucy's eyes were just looks of amazement wondering how anyone could still drive those buckets of ....
I guess we'll have to wait for Lucy to give us the truthfull explanation.

Evening Mr Lexic,
What a load of codswallop, The only green one was Roachie, being camped next to a fine peice of machinery like a troopy was more than he could handle.
What Roachie forgot to mention was that he freely admitted that he is intending to bye a new troopy when the new model comes out.
He has been a closet supporter for as long as I have known him, but denies it cos he could only afford a poormans toyota !
Yes a great time was had by the YP4WD club members and a couple of exras on
Kangaroo Island, and our pressence was
well know around the island, Good news travels fast , hahahahaha !
Must have been quiet here for a week or so with 8 of the 12 vehicles, EO contributors!
Cheers Pesty

Hey Roachie,
I hope you checked his camera before you let him go?
I have heard rumours that some insecure Yota owners feel the need to hook up a recovery strap to a Nissan in the wee hours while you are asleep and take brag shots. By the sounds of it though, Member Lucy's truck would be struggling to pull the strap tight enough for a realistic photo anyway.
Glad to hear you all had a good trip.
Regards, Trevor.

Trevor,
The sad part is that there are photos in existence from this trip which show me facing up an incline with my winch rope attached to the front of MuddyDoe's Prado. If these photos ever see the light of day, just be aware that all I was doing was winding on a new synthetic rope (under tension). Member "Lucy" was assisting me by being the "guide" of the new rope. He really is such a lovely chap and it is sad that he has turned-out the way he has , what with being a toyota-nut 'n' all!!!! lololol
It was a great trip; sadly no 4 wheelin' to speak of.
