Im installing the aftermarket turbo onto the troopie 1hz this month, but I need to find where and how much. It seems like its denco all the way, but I was wondering if I should look at other makes of aftermarket kit. Theres AXT for me to ring to get a quote from, but is there anyone else I should try?
Is there anyone on here who has done this installation lately?

Hi John,
I don't know specifics to turbo's on that vehicle but two turbo mobs that have given me good service with my GU are MTQ in
Toowoomba and more recently, Mike Vine Turbo's in Capalaba in
Brisbane. I would recommend a call to both or either one of these guys for alternatives.
Hope they help.
Trevor.

I agree with Trevor above.
I have a Mike Vine Turbo on my 80 series landcruiser that has been on there since the car was new 16 years ago.(June 1990 model)
Throughout my family we have had at least 6 turbo's fitted to 4WD's in the last 20 years so he has been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't.
Good luck with your decision,
Brett

I have had a Mike Vive turbo as
well, he blows me away with his knowledge the only trouble was he only accepted cash, if that is a problem.

G'Day Longjohn, Ditto the other respondents, have had a Mike Vine on an 80 series cruiser for 5 years and his professional approach to the whole package was reassuring. Not as cheap as some others but he sure knows his turbos and I'm a happy traveller with much improved performance either light or towing the Aussie Swag. By the way he advised against the adding of an intercooler system, know of some who have fitted kits at home and tweaked this and that to get the last bit out out of it and ended up blowing up a good motor. Mike dynos the fitup and this is better than listening to the "backyarders" and guessing it's OK.

Well im going to go with a Denco kit. 3900 fully fitted tuned and exhuast to siut.
Turbo
Brisbane are going to do it. After doing a fraser trip, and seeing what these engines are like without turbo, this HAS to be done!
