dead fish 10/000 plus?

any body hear of the thousand s of dead fish i heard it was at Fraser Island but cant find any info on it (tried news and fishnet)

Yeah mate, they were some kind of leather jacket, which apparently can be struck down with a virus that only effects that certain species of fish. The last i heard, they estimated around 400,000 fish had been affected, but it was only the leather jacket, and it was still safe to fish for other species.

Two recent fish kills at Fraser Island which affected about 400,000 threadfin leatherjackets will be investigated by QLD Fisheries Service.
Fish washed up along the entire east coast of the island during the first incident two weeks ago.The second incident happened on sunday but was mainly restricted to beaches in the north east section of the island.Samples have been sent to the National Research Centre for Environmental Toxocology in Brisbane.The QFS said there was no evidence yet that people were responsible.
