Whats happened to the old one,can it be fixed?
Its a Denso rotary pump and you dont need to go through Toyota to get parts for them
Good luck finding a used one ,they dont pop up often.
There is some difference between a 1KZ and a 1KZ TE so make sure you get it straight.
The 1KZ is a non turbo motor found in some Dynas

Well I have a Denso 6 cyl rotary pump ,similar to yours, that is used on the 1HZ landcruiser diesel.
I had my spare pump dismantled, cleaned new seals, and bench tested for presssure and it cost $450.
It had been sitting for 4 years with diesel in it that had dried up.
I cant see how the algea would stuff up the electronics except maybe clog some sensors.
I also thought the electronics just sat on top and could be removed easliy
Used pumps can be a nightmare if they have very high klms and its impossibel to know unless a
shop can test them.
