I have a '99 HiLux with standard
suspension, ie not lifted, std springs & t-bars, and 15x8 rims, on which I'd ideally like to fit 32 x 11.5(or 12.5) R15's.
Does anyone know whether they'll fit, and if not what the maximum tyre size is ?
Ignoring the legality and gear ratio issues, I imagine the restriction would be the front guards.

31's is as good as you'll get on a std lux.
I body lifted
mine 2", and wound the t-bars only about 15mm and still had to trim the front guards to run my 285/75/16's (33")

Thanks gbc, just the kind of feedback I was after. Now it's either lift 'n' trim, or stay on 31's.

GBC,
I dont suppose mate you could tell me what tyre in 285 you are running as I was considering doing the same on my next tyre change, also, did you retain the factory offset? were you running 16x7 or 16x8 rims and could you post or send me a pic of your hilux please.
Thanks mate

Hi Nic1,
I have a 99 Hilux with which I fitted 31 x 10.5s on 15 x 7 sunraysias. The tyres were Goodyear Wranglers and looked mean. Great in a straight line but the shoulder of the tyres would scrub on the front mudflaps when you turned and the
suspension travel so I removed the flaps. Then they were scrubbing on the inner guard near the front corner of the doors. They did this with and without 2" OME
suspension, so I bought a set of 2" body lift blocks as
well and now only have the trouble when on very hard entry or exits through creeks or gutters. To fit the blocks you need to trim the lower guard from your radiator fan shroud, trim the metal plate between the gear shifters (otherwise it will jump out of gear)and modify side steps and bullbar/ towbar to suit and of course buy longer bolts. Hope this helps, has been 4 years now and am very pleased with the results.
