Where do people go to get their vehicles washed ? I use the ferry that takes off from the port of brissy and last time i came back there was nowhere on the way home so used the hose. Can't do that now so what do others do ?

my local rustproofing shop does a $50 after beach clean where he gets it up on the hoist and uses the gerny. I do that now that I can't hose and its a better clean than I used to manage on the ground.

I'm Brisbane north if it helps

I take the car home and wash it there.
Yes, I live in Brisy.
I bought a cheap Karcher type washer.
Load up a tub with a couple of buckets of water (legal until Nov) and run the karcher from that.
After level 4 when car washing is completely banned, will have to use water from my storm water tank, if the rain keeps it topped up :-).

Or use recycled water from the washing machine rinse cycle or a bucket in the shower with you.

Thanks for your reply, just thought i drop in that my understanding of the dominant ingredients in washing powders are sodium products, just something to look into if you are planning on using grey water.

Even garden shows say don't put unfiltered washing machine water on your garden or you'll end up poisoning them with unacceptable salt levels.

Maybe i just wait till the next storm and run the karcher from the gutter, perhaps not such a ridiculous idea since i live at the bottom of a hill ...

Thanks for the comment on recylced water.

I prefer to use tap water in the tub, since I have a tap in the front yard near where I wash the car. OK as long as I bucket it across.
The rain water tank is at the rear, so a bit of a walk with the bucket, but it may have to be the way in the future.
Find with the karcher and tub, I use about 10 to 15 litres for a wash.

I am getting a reputation for washing my car in the rain!
Put your togs on and go for it next storm.
