I am no longer an outcast and an object of ridicule in our household.

I can hold my head up high and cook on the Cobb with the best of ‘em –well, with a bit of practise maybe..lol

It was the bluddy heat beads !!!!!!!!!! @#%^%#$ things.

Used the ‘real’ Heat Beads, fire going in about 10mins, leg of lamb n vegies loaded up….cup of wine plus herbs etc in the moat….moat is on page 2..lol lol

Turned it over after 45mins. Wifey came home to a succulent roast with all the trimmings…magic.

-and I had great pleasure ‘phoning the kids and telling them to ‘Argus
Tuft’

Will now experiment with other dishes, expect no more disasters……yeah right!!

Thanks to a those who responded and to you Willem…beans on toast for you and a home cooked feast for your lovely wife;))))

Cheers
Michael

Congratulations Michael

It was always only a mattter of time. I could smell the roast from here. I have been looking at the cobbs but a lot of people tell me they are a mongrel to clean.

Good luck with other foods

Very easy to clean. Spray the inside with oil and then rub with a paper towel. When you clean all grit comes straight off. Nobby

Nothing wrong with beans on toast. I've even eaten em cold, straight out of the can when desperate in my younger days. Sadly they don't agree with me these days :))
Glad to see you've finally drawn a bead...or 2 .

Well done Michael, at least you can still be an object of ridicule here amongst your online family, but NEVER an outcast

Enjoy your success. We bought ours for camping but have used it more at home with the big Webber now only used when we have guests over.

Our last meal out of the Cobb was roast pork while camped in the Otways last week. Nice still evening and the smell wafted over the entire camp ground!

Mornin' Muzbry,

The registered trade mark ones...... www.heatbeads.com.au/faqs.asp.

Don't muck about with the others, as I found out to my dismay......tho' others
may have had more luck;)))

Cheers

Gday Michael

I looked up this site and they are the type that my son and i use,,,,Thanks for the reply,,,good luck with the cooking ,,,,

We cooked a chicken roll last Saturday night and it was succulent and very tasty, of course there were the obligatory veggies and beer, and the drive in the high country otherwise it would not taste as good..

We were going to the high country again in about 7 weeks but may have to be done earlier now as the small child of mine gave me a new gas cooker for my birthday,, and it must be tested, ASAP,,,,,,,, along with the heat beads of course in the Webber.
