G'day all,
Just inquired about WildCat Extractors for my 3.4 V6 Hilux - they are the only ones Ive found so far that make them and for a sreasonable price too. But before I commit to it, I would like to hear if anyone else here has had any experience with them. What sort of gains did you achieve in torque and power? Did you change the rest of the system or just the manifolds? Are you happy with them?
Thanks guys.....

There isn’t much point doing Extractors and not doing the rest of the system.
Reasonable gains can be made with a
well built/ designed exhaust system thou

Both standard headers and exhaust systems are restrictive. They are made to be fitted with ease at the factory and not made free flowing.
You will gain a little bit of torque & power from changing to extractors but as said it will be restricted again by the standard exhuast system.
I know it's not a 4by but as an example I have a LS1 powered Commodore with extractors and free flowing exhuast and dyno reading stock was 178kw and after was 207kw. Fuel consumption was down 1L per 100km too and it's sounds like a V8 now not a vaccum cleaner.
So depnding how restrictive the standard Hilux system is you should expect some gains.

Yep
I own a set of wildcat extractors.
Yep made a difference, fitted on own first with still original system on Navara, made improvement.
Few pays later, full system to complement it, bigger difference.
Added Unifilter to top it off.
I have no idea on figures on torque hp etc, as I didnt dyno it, but definite improvement in performance, AND fuel economy.
Be careful with your bigger
bore system,
mine is 2 and 1/4" which works
well, its possible to go too far, then you will lose backpressure and performance.
3" sounds good but wont be suitable on lots of vehicles.
Go to a performance exhaust specialist and take their advice on
bore size to run with for your hilux.
Mine cost $300 for extractors and $300 for system,
well worth it.
Mine is 4 cyl though, and 1 set, so yours being V6, will be 2 sets, so expect to pay prob $500 - $600 for the extractors, still worth it though IMO.

thanks guys for your feedback. From reading the US 4x4 forums they all say that the 3.4 V6 is very restricted and there are noticeable gains when fitted with a TRD extractor/exhaust system, unfortunately because we are right hand drive, those extractors dont fit our trucks here.
I like what you say Ron, about your Navara improvement. sounds good.

Hi,
Wait for the pacemaker ones, hopefully they will be out soon. I have a new hilux 3L diesel, but my mate has been searching around for extractors for his car (3.4L Prado) and he has been told to wait for those ones to come out.
