hi, we are about to try to remove some old stickers from our van that have faded out over the years (the souvenir type stickers don't last like they use to) and was wondering if anyone has any good ways of doing this that wont harm the paint work. thanks

A heat gun works on most. You can lift a corner with a razor blade and heat them then to soften the glue then peal them off. Full sun and a hot day can do the same thing.
High pressure spray can also work, as I found out by accident.

As Pesty sez - Eucalyptus Oil.
If it's REALLY stuck, start, very gingerly with a heat gun, use the lowest setting as they can be vicious as I
well know!
Prolly best to pull off what ya can without the heat gun and then soak with Eucalyptus Oil.
Acetone will shift 'em but it'll shift the very thin paint layer on vans very easily as
well.
I took all the stickers off my new van when I bought it. If left on for a few years it's nigh on impossible to shift 'em.

I removed all the weathered and peeling stickers off my 22 yearold millard with a hair dryer no worries at all. Would like to have read how to get rid of to sticky glue left at the time as it was a drama to get rid of.

I have used a citrus based goo remover and works
well. Can get it at the supermaket in cleaning section.
Smells nice too ;)

I used a heat gun (Bosch, set to 90c) to heat & remove the vast signwriting from the sides of a 7m bus in just 2.5hours. This system was also used by me to remove stickers from my trailer when i bought it. I usually wipe of any residue glue with a kero dampend rag.

Paper based stickers are the worst. I just soak them in kero 3-4 times for a day or so before trying to remove them.

Use what the pros use - hot
water - really hot from a kettle - keep it flowing across the sticker until it goes soft -then it just comes off.

thanks for all your ideas i don't know if i'm brave enough to use a heat gun but will certainly give the others a go, there's quite a few stickers on it so i'll try different ways and report back what worked the best thanks again gone bush.
