I am thinking of
camping for a few nights at
Pebbly Beach on our way back from Fraser Island in mid November. Can anyone confirm whether the river that you need to cross in order to access the
camp site is salt
water or fresh
water.
Thanks Mick

The
creek is on
the beach and is tidal so expect salt
water. We were there about 20 months ago and was about 30cm deep at low tide. You need to be crossing it 2 hours each side of low tide.

I was there 4 months ago, and yes its tidal, at low tide the
water is brackish. Pick the right time and go through it slow enough and you won't splash up much
water at all.
A great place to spend a few days, good
camp sites with lots of shade trees. Collect fire wood from the heap on the way in. We towed the camper in with no problems at all.

Hi mick, it is salt
water and as said is shallow at low tide and does come up on the tide. the direct route when crossing is deeper than a 20 metre swing up stream and across.
