I am chucking my job in soon (electrician) and going on a trip of a lifetime. Im 35 and still single and figure if im going to be single any longer, I might as
well take advantage of it! Im moving out of my house, renting it out, gearing up and heading off. I will stop in towns on a temp basis for work for cash top ups but I intend to work no longer than a quarter of the total time of the trip, even less if I can afford it. I have a Landcruiser Troop carrier hi top set up with fridge,
solar power, dual batterys dual diesel tanks, double bed in the roof, and single on the bottom, but also carry a tent if my companion chooses to sleep outside, but from what I hear, thats not advisable in croc country! I surf, fish and explore everything. Im also taking a 12foot tinnie to further explore.

Last photo taken on the last fraser trip.
Im an easy going intellegent guy that gets along with almost anyone, and one of the things that im really looking forward on this trip is all the great people im going to meet. I love
camp oven cooking, talking around a fire and having a few drinks.
Being a single guy, of course I would really love to meet a female companion to share this trip with, who will love to enjoy the outdoors as much as me, but failing that a male travel mate similar to me would be good also.
So does anyone want to come with me? at least part of the way? I would like to hope the person who comes with me will help with some of the fuel costs, or catch more fish than me:)
more about me, at LongJ at rsvp

Dude,
What a trip, sounds awesome!! I wish I could join you for some of it but unfortunatly the misses would kill me.
Nothing but the open road, no expections or limitations, a troopy and a tinny. What else do you need?
I'm sure you'll find someone, somewhere to join the experience with you.
Rock on... or underworld trance... awesome!!!

Sounds like a great trip to be on LJ. With an itineray like that, I would post it on the notice board at your local back packers hostel, you will have them
young swedish girls queing up for hours!! A friend of
mine used to do it before he set sail on his yacht he used to have some years ago.

Yes it isnt as simple as it sounds. Ive hit up all my mates to see if any of them will come and all of them are chicken bleep s or married or are scared or just dont like the country life. Ive posted up on several other sites also, and so far (three days) Ive actually only had any discussions or replies on this site! Ill try the backpackers
places anyway, but I think people like that only want to stay with younger poeple of their nature and not break up with that crew and go alone with a aussie. Its out of their comfort zone perhaps.

Dont dispair LJ, you may start out solo, but will probably get to meet and travel with folk along the way. We have seen numerous times either a guy or girl on their own travelling. Latest one was at
wombeyan caves, an elderly guy on his own, complete with kayak and mountain bike.
The other one recently was at Merry Bch NSW, an elderly lady travelling on her own with a small caravan in tow, she knew exactly how to set up etc, and had some good equipment to use to help her be comfortable too. Cheers Unc,
