I run a 3.2 Diesel Navara and use Wrangler TG's in mud and am very happy with them. I have 2 sets of rims so come summer I swap them over for Desert Duelers in the same size. Can anyone suggest a tyre that is better in loose sand than a Desert Dueler in a 205R16 size ? ? ? I want to stay that size because I have heavy mud chains in that size and like the idea of 4 spares If I need. Cheers.

I recently did the CRS on Desert Duelers 2000km of sand, rock mud and corrigations. Not 1 puncture, never looked like getting bogged (25psi). Not one of the trendy tyres at the moment, but - value for money i will certainly be sticking to my Duelers.

It's the original pattern 604V's I'm replacing. I might consider the D693's or new model D694's this time. I'll admit I'm a bit hesitant with the D693 pattern as I had them in a 215/75 15 size on a suzuki sierra and had it sideways at 70kph on the soft roads west of Bourke a few years ago. The little bus stayed upright though, they were probably too wide for a light vehicle like this. Most exciting !! Hence I went to the TG's in a narrow on the Navara They are just about unbeatable in mud. I will consider the 693 or 694 for sand. Can anyone tell me anything about the D694, is it as good as the 693 or better ? Thankyou Brian G for your thoughts.
