Hi DavidT,
funny you should mention that. I have a copy of a fax here that was sent to a mate of
mine. He has a Diesel Injectors and Injection Pump business.
It was sent around to dealers and diesel industry members and i believe Nissan are subsidising the cost to the point where it only costs $5635 to replace your Yr 2000 onwards 3.0L Motor.
These are NEW genuine 3.0Lt motors (ZD30) and comes with a 12month 20,000km warranty.
The part number is 1010BVC628 and the deal only lasts until the motors with that part number run out.
It would seem that after years of consumer struggle, that Nissan are finally coming to the party. Though i fail to see how discounting a replacement for a faulty part is coming to the party, i would have thought recalling and replacing would be more appropriate.

Are Nissan coming to the party or just getting rid of excess stock?
With Toyota's new Diesel motor Nissan will have to do something to compete. Perhaps they are getting rid of some excess 3.0 ltr motors prior to introducing a replacement.

The Brand New factory motor should be 100,000 km warranty not 20,000.

I think you have nailed it Kumunara with excess stock thing...Its a pity they didn't just come out and replace them right from the start, this motor or more correctly their handling of the problem has done Nissan's after sales reputation a hell of a lot of damage.

Hey Kumunara , seems an interesting figure to me, maybe a better idea is to fit the Nissan Xtrail motor, costs about 7K but it would last at least a bit longer LOL.
Actually you have hit the nail on the head Steve with the excess stock thing. Maybe they can put the 2.5 T/D out of the Navara in them wouldn't that be great, latest figures showed a Lux towing a 1.5tonne van using 15 or so ltrs per 100k then the nav with the 2.5 with the same van, same road over 19ltrs per 100k. Might have lore ponies but pity it has be on turbo boast all the time to tow anything.
Ask all the Truck Drivers ( and some females), Nothing beats size LOL (
well cubic inches)

'their handling of the problem has done Nissan's after sales reputation a hell of a lot of damage'
The way Nissan handles problems isn't only specific to the 3.0l but everything. The battle I had to get my gearbox repaired and then finally they installed a new gearbox. After sales service is appalling. I don't think I would buy another new Nissan because of this.

Apparently they are importing 1 new engine for every 100 sold so if there is no stock they have some issues..
