A good service tale

Weekend before last we had the Patrol booked in at Opposite Lock in Bunbury to fit a Hayman Reece tow bar (after the strange brand one came to grief). We asked them to replace the rear shockies at the same time, and this created a problem as whoever had fitted the last ones had cross threaded a nut, and they were having problems getting it together again. Being a small business, they didn't have the full range of tools, and being Saturday after noon in WA, nothing was open that stocked a die of the right size. While the employee doing the job should have knocked off at noon. He and his boss stayed (reasonably cheerfully under the circumstances) for an extra hour and a half. They used creative thinking and achieved the task. We thought we'd cop a big bill for their time, but was only charged the standard fitting fees as quoted.

The employee also asked if we'd had the vehicle there before (we hadn't), as he'd seen the sticker before. At least one other ExplorOz member has been there before then. We'll go back.

Good to here about your Opposite Lock experience. We were also pleased with the excellent and honest service we got at another Opposite Lock in Ballina NSW.

We are new to caravanning and were readying our tow vehicle with an electric brakes contraption. OL had given us a price to supply and fit. On pick up it was $$ less. "Why?' I asked. "Because your vehicle had already had one and it had been wired up." At our sale from the previous owner the monitor had been removed (before the sale sighting) but the wiring left.

I would never have known and paid as per quote. Nice to know that some old world standards are still alive and well in Ballina. Thank you Opposite Lock - Ballina.

Regards
