Hi everyone.
I am a few weeks too late postig this but we have the Pajero back after that guy that lost control and hit me causing some not so good damage. 2 weeks it as in the
shop for. I really jumped up and down about wanting a new rim since that is what copped the direct impact, but they wouldn't go with that one. they did send the rim off to get checked over, tested etc and it seems all fine. They did also give me a new Cooper and let me keep the old one which is great because we discovered that our spare is too big. (same size tyre but it is a Yoko not a Cooper and stood nearly an inch higher).
Mechanically I really stayed on their case about exactly what I wanted and what parts I wanted, I wasn't dealing with NRMA for that but the workshop who act as the third party, Compliments to them, they were great, put up with my demands and phone checks and used genuine Mitsubishi parts for the control arm and whatever else. (and they aren't paying for it so why not use genuine.) The panel and flare repair work they did was also great and came back really good. All the
suspension work and the couple of wheel alignments they did was all done by Pedders. So at the end of the day even though it was a long two weeks without my beloved rig all work was done spot on and I couldn't fault anything. And a huge thankyou to Trevor for loaning us Project Blizzard for the time so we still had transport.
The paj was back yesterday getting a new starter motor fitted. I only put a new one in 4 months or so ago, but it died.. apparently there has been an oil leak above and it has been dripping into the starter motor which then burned out all the bushes....bugga! $385 out of my pocket for this one, warranty wouldn't cover it this time.
We are still around, just don't get on the
forum as much lately. Mark has now had to quit work because of his health and is the husband of leisure, while I am now working 60-70 hours a week nightshift to compensate.. (someone has too work to help keep the breweries pumping out all the beer for you all!!!) so me having any more than 5 minutes at the computer or on my lounge is very rare these days, but haven't forgotten you all.
Anyway that is the latest with the paj and us, just wanted to check in with those who know us to know we haven't ditched EO! But it is now my time to head off to start my 12 hours for tonight while husband can chill on the lounge. (something just doesn't seem quite right about this picture!!!).
Have a great week everyone.
Cheers
Jo

Hi Jo,
Good to hear from you. I hope we can all get together again some time soon.
I am struggling to work out what is wrong with the picture though. Me sitting on lounge while wife goes out to work .... , no, still can't see anything wrong :).
Tim.

Jo, good to hear everything worked out.
Got to look after these pajs, especially the Gen II now they are getting older.
Just a query, what make of
snorkel is that?
Thinking we need one for the next trip.
How do you find it for noise?
We live on the southside of Brisy but been too busy to catch up with any EO people.
(I do the 50 to 60 hour weeks, and the better half works part time, so know how you feel.)

Hey Plodder! you are about 25 minutes up the freeway from me. Will have to get you to a gathering soon hey! We are at Browns Plains vicinity.
It is a Safari
Snorkel, bought it from ARB for $601.00 fitted or about $485.00 if you are fitting it yourself, and for noise.... what noise??!! the only thing that is noisy now is the new muffler! the other one was shot, It was $195.00 for a standard muffler or $100.00 even for a sports.. go figure!
The only thing left to be done mechanically on the Paj is a new steering box. @$600 for a new one if he can't reco the current one. And we need some bump stops... but refuse to pay $400 for the pair from mitsubishi.... surely someone here has to know a cheaper way!
well time for some food then hit the sack while you all start your day.... think I might pass on the gym today!
Cheers
Jo
