Hi. I have a Trojan 27tmh battery as an auxillery in my caravan (don't say I should have an AGM as I cannot afford one at present).
My question is what voltage should this battery have when fully or near fully charged?
Secondly what is the maximum amperage will this battery accept?
Thank you

Nonimal voltage = 12V
Absorption Voltage = 14.4 - 14.8
Float = 13.5
Equalise = 13.5
Max Current C20 divide 5 (Amps)

All batteries I have bought always seem to sit around 12.6 volts off the shelf.

I second that. What was quoted above are charging voltages which are quite different to what a fully charged battery reads at the terminals after it has been OFF the charger for 24 hours or so.
That "nominal" voltage bit is a furphy, if a 12V battery actually reads 12V at rest then its pretty empty.
The original poster is
well advised to use a hydrometer (glass tube/ bulb thingie) to test the charge of each cell in the trojans, the ones I had on my boat did not last very long.
