well the time has now arrived - the
water corp is about to initiate closures of the area around mundaring - including the powerline - the size of the area in question is pretty enormous and kicks us (and other users) out completely. I guess if anyone is really concerned they could start ringing/email/contact their local mp and or anyone else and try and argue the case for access - but as with everything '
water' at this stage it appears the jackboot mentality of the watercorp will prevail. rgds

That is a shame, although I was under the impression that the Mundaring part of the Powerlines (
talbot rd heading west) was closed already and the only part remaining open was the sawyers valley end. Does this mean that the sawyers valley end is closing too?
I know many tracks around mundaring have been closed, including many of the
Hill climbs around the weir etc.
It was only a matter of time.
Cheers
Mike

I thought the
water down there was getting more and more scarce - shouldn't they need less area for the dam now....

Yup, you can guess who I work for :-)

Had a play on the powerline track last week. Went in at Flynn Rd and headed east. Didnt see any evidence of track closures, however, a mate of
mine who is a supervisor for Western Power reckons that it is illegal to use the track but a blind eye is turned because if 4wders are banned from this area they will just find somewhere else to play and possibly destroy virgin land. Never fail to see some real cowboys on this track either determined to kill themselves or break their trucks which spoils it for most of us and gives the authorities the ammo they need to close tracks..........nissnut
